Sossusvlei is a white clay pan set amidst these towering apricot-coloured, star-shaped dunes, making for a spectacular setting.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: Namib Desert, Sossusvlei

After meeting you at the airport or any agreed upon location, we head west into the Namib Desert traveling through the scenic bushland and savannah of the central highland and Namib Naukluft Park. En route we will stop at the spectacular Spreetshoogte Mountain Pass viewpoint before we descend from the central plateau. We will have lunch in Solitaire, a Namib Desert oasis, and arrive at the Quiver Tree Camp in the afternoon.

Overnight: Quiver Tree Camp or similar

DAY 2: Namib Naukluft, Namib Desert, Sossusvlei

An early rise this morning to reach the gate before it opens and get into Sossusvlei before sunrise to be able to capture the dunes while the light is soft and shadows accentuate their towering shapes and curves.
This area boasts some of the highest free standing sand dunes in the world. Your guide will give you an insight into the formation of the Namib Desert and the myriad of fascinating creature and plants that have adapted to survive this harsh environment. Once you have explored the area to your heart's content, you can enjoy a relaxed picnic breakfast in the shade of a camel thorn tree. Return to the lodge in time for lunch, stopping off to view Sesriem Canyon along the way. The rest of the afternoon can be spent at your leisure, with the option of heading out again later in the afternoon to visit the dunes at Sossusvlei while the shadows sharpen their contours as the sun goes down.

DAY 3: Windhoek
